Who are we?
As a chapter of Sweet Adelines International, Valley Forge Chorus is a dedicated group of singers from all backgrounds and levels of musical experience who love to sing! We work together every week to learn about and develop our singing and performance skills.
Throughout the year, we have a blast performing for our local community and developing our skills to the next level by participating in singing competitions. In 2024 we were named small chorus champions in our Region, and in 2022 we competed on the International stage in Louisville, KY!
Who are we looking for?
We welcome new singers who love to perform and enjoy working together to develop their skills! We need all types of voices, and there is a place for everyone in barbershop harmony.
Singing experience and skills such as music reading are helpful, but not essential. Many of our members had no formal singing experience before joining the chorus, and we provide a variety of learning tools.
What should I expect when visiting?
Lots of singing! We'll suggest a part for you to try, then everyone will participate in warmups. You'll get to sing a variety of music with the chorus and the chorus may even perform for you. It will be a fun and inclusive evening!
If you decide to continue, over the next few weeks you'll participate in rehearsals and learn a song in preparation for the audition. Don't worry--the goal of audition is not to demonstrate perfection, but to build a community of members with shared commitment to learning and performing. Our musical leaders are standing by to provide more information and plenty of support as you prepare for your audition.
